Calafia is a casual script inspired by left-handed brush lettering. Its warmth and personality makes Calafia perfect for advertising headlines and logotypes. Calafia includes final forms for natural word endings, alternate swash caps, and an alternate set of caps for uppercase settings, all supporting more than 100 languages. Calafia was co-designed by Neil Secretario and Riley Cran and is available at Lost Type. In-use type specimen by Marisol Ortega.
I was hired to design the film title for Step Up: High Water, a YouTube Red original series based on the Step Up film franchise. The logotype was used in video, web and social media channels to promote the series leading up to its premiere. Designed in collaboration with Cold Open, Venice, CA.
Located in the bustling theatre district of Milan, Italy, Trulli Love is a restaurant and store that offers the best of the Mediterranean, and in particular the region of Puglia. I was hired to design the logotype as part of a brand identity and interior design project in collaboration with AdD New York. Art direction by Erin Bazos, AdD.
Silver Trailer is a collection of vintage Airstreams available to rent for T.V. shows, commercials, music videos, print catalogs, trade shows, magazines, and special events. I collaborated with Christiana Spaulding - designer, interior stylist, and Silver Trailer founder - to redesign the logotype in a mid-century modern-style script that captures the character and style of the brand.
When Intercom redesigned their company blog, they wanted the hero images to have a more organic style and not look too obviously computer-generated. Intercom hired me to design three expressive lettering illustrations for their Q&A blog series. To convey a hand-lettered aesthetic, the natural brush strokes and textures of the original sketches on paper were preserved in the final digital illustrations.
I was hired by American mass media company, Conde Nast, to letter a headline for GQ Magazine Germany. The story features highly successful women who are all pretty tough and tattooed, with great ideas and very strong opinions. The headline was written in a free flowing brush script to evoke an urban street culture.

I was invited by Goodtype founder and creative director, Brooke Robinson, to submit new artwork for consideration in Goodtype: The Art of Lettering, a 288-page book featuring artwork from 128 artists from over 30 countries around the world.

I had the honor of designing the logotype for their Parure Collection which was elegantly presented as a wrapped wooden box containing a set of large fine art prints, decorative story cards and informational materials. I was asked to letter a page of lyrics by a performer at Coachella, an annual music and arts festival held in Indio, California. The artwork was printed in Coachella’s Camp Magazine, a souvenir guide handed out to over 250,000 event attendees.
